Ponder, if you will, a world devoid of the colour green. Maybe it is too peculiar a image to comprehend. Now ponder a world with green in all the wrong places. We all must support people: families, friends, pets, whomsoever needs us. How do we help them?
Whichever way you look at it, it trickles back to money. Money for clothes, money for food, warmth, the roof over the head, you name it. This is where businesses come in and twist the proverbial arm. If you are down on hard times, you would do damn near anything to get out, even if the facade route you take leads to more debt. People become more flexible to ever more strenuous demands, in order to make just a little bit more. But if you work more to support your family, you risk missing out on the most important points in your family's life: baby's first words, being there for your family's greatest triumphs, helping pick up the pieces in times of distress... It is a vicious cycle, seemingly without end, especially in these times of ardour.
It seems fitting to include this song of mine. It is not professionally done, and was made by someone with no formal musical or recording training. Still, I feel it sums up my anger about the cycle of it all.
This is a world with green in all the wrong places.
